![]() ![]() The work involved advising Ministers on policy and chief police officers on good practice in their officers’ use of stop and search. He transferred to the City of London Police in 1990 and worked in various roles that included Detective Inspector in the Fraud Squad. In 2003 he went on secondment to the Home Office to work on Stop and Search in the Office for Criminal Justice Reform. He joined Surrey Police in 1982 straight from university, where he obtained a BSc Biochemistry (Hons) degree. ![]() Victor served as a police officer for 35 years. Martin completed a secondment to Glasgow to assist with logistics and staff matters in respect of the Covid-19 response. Martin was a football match and event commander in addition to being a Post Incident Manager.In addition, Martin deployed out with the UK to South East Asia in a command mentorship role.Martin concluded his service as a Superintendent with the Criminal Justice Services Division, leading over 350 staff. From this role he progressed to become Deputy and then Business Lead for Mobile Working as a member of the Digitally Enabled Policing Programme. Ret'd Supt Martin Gallagher held a variety of roles during his career including operational patrol, both as a Constable and Sergeant Detective roles (DC and DS) including drugs interdiction, intelligence and as a serious crime investigator / Dep SIO national resilience work, including crisis events, the London Olympics and COP26 Divisional level Co-ordination and Partnership engagement Executive level research, support and advice on strategic issues. Martin completed a successful posting as Local Area Commander, leading a team of 200 staff in Scotland's largest town, Paisley. ![]()
