When the pandemic closed the nursing home doors to non-essential visitors, they coordinated Zoom calls for residents to stay connected to their families. Our family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Yorktown Convalescent & Rehab nursing home staff that cared for Jan, and provided guidance to our family over the last 18 months. In addition to her children, she leaves behind six grandchildren, Matthew Mussoni of Camarillo, CA, Charles Queen of Panama City, FL, Ethan Queen of Roanoke, VA, and Eliza Queen of Poquoson, VA, and Sophia and Brody Morrison of Hampstead, MD. Mussoni, both of Charlotte, NC, and two daughters, Katherine Queen (Timothy) of Poquoson, VA, and Annie Morrison (Jeffrey) of Hampstead, MD. She was always delighted to watch her grandchildren perform with the Poquoson Islanders HS marching and symphonic bands, especially during the Christmas season. She made many friends in the Port Warwick community in Newport News, and was also a member of St. “Ray” Ruenheck moved to Myrtle Beach, SC where they spent 15 happy years together, golfing, traveling, going to the beach, spending time with friends and being bossed around by their little collie, Molly.Īfter Ray’s passing in 2004, Jan moved to VA to live closer to family. In retirement, Jan and her husband, Raymond T. She had many fond memories of life in Worcester and the beaches of New England. A Worcester, Massachusetts native and resident for over 50 years, Jan graduated from Ascension Catholic High School in 1954 and attended Worcester State College, was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
